Buhari begin payment of ₦4.75 billion to Northern traders for inconvenience
Several Nigerians especially those in the Southern part of the country have continued to show their disapproval over the decision by the federal government to pay the sum of N4.75 billion as compensation to Northern traders.
Recall that the Northern cattle and food sellers under the aegis of Amalgamated Union of Foodstuffs and Cattle Dealers in Nigeria (AUFCDN) embarked on a North-South food blockade.
The union had placed some demands on the federal government which included a full guarantee of protection of lives and properties of Northerners living in Southern Nigeria as well as a compensation of a N4.75 billion.
According to People’s Gazette, the federal government has agreed to these demands and it was disclosed by the President of the association, Muhammad Tahir.
Many Nigerians have reacted to this and almost all of them are negative reactions.
