HOW TO USE YOUR PHONE TO LOCK YOUR PC VIA BLUETOOTH
Technology is going simply crazy this days, though its Fun anyway and
i thank God Nigerians are getting Acquainted with it easily. Today on
Naijaloaded, We shall be Treating a very Cool Topic on How to Use your
Phone to Lock your PC via Bluetooth.
We use many type of Software to lock our PC to protect our private data and content but here is a unique and a totally different approach to lock your computer – With Your Mobile Device & it’s totally Free.
BtProx {Bluetooth Proximity Lock} is a free application that uses bluetooth technology of your cell phone to lock your computer. It monitors the distance of your computer to your cellphone.
NOTE: This Software works like a Magic, Once the Application is Installed on your PC and Connected with your Phone for the First time, Its all done! Whenever you take or go away from your computer, Your Computer will Automatically Lock itself and once you come nearer to your computer it will unlock itself again.
:- Before this Software can work for you, Your Pc and/or Laptop must have a Bluetooth Features. I don't know about External Bluetooth o but the In-built Bluetooth Features works well.
HOW TO MAKE THIS SOFTWARE WORKS VIA YOUR PHONE BLUETOOTH
1. Download the Bluetooth Proximity Lock File, Unzip it and Run the Installer.
2. After Installing the Software, Minize it and Go to your PC Bluetooth Settings, Pair your Computer and your Phone together for the First time. If you're already using your Phone with your computer via Bluetooth, this step 2 might be skipped.
3. Open the program and select your device using the “…” button next to “Used device” option. {See the Image below, the Button is the one Marked in Red}.
4. Set the timeout after which the computer will be locked. {The Timeout option, Set the Minute you want your PC to Lock once your Phone goes away from ur Pc.}
5. Now Click on the “Start” button.
6. The icon of the program turns orange on the Desktop Tray as soon as your device is found discoverable.
7. When the device disappears and the icon turns red, few minutes after your PC will be locked. In order to abort it from locking, right-click the icon on the system tray and choose “Abort workstation lock“
