National Christian Elders Forum, NCEF, is accusing the leadership of the Christian of Nigeria (CAN) of corruption and abuse of office. Specifically, the forum alleged that the leadership of the umbrella organisation for Christians in Nigeria collected N25 million or N40 million from the Presidency during a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari, criticising the action and calling for sanction. It also alleged that the CAN leadership bought official vehicles at questionable prices. The CAN President, Rev. (Dr) Samson Olasupo Ayokunle, dismissed the allegations, branding them as “a catalogue of lies” designed to smear his reputation. Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to use the recovered looted funds in empowering farmers, artisans, and small businesses. He noted that the downtrodden were major victims of corruption. Bello, who said this in Lokoja while flagging off the wet season farming programme, said Nigeria’s potentialities in agriculture could be harnessed if properly funded. Banky W Reacts To ‘Lazy Youths’ Comment By President Buhari

​ President M. Buhari has come under fire for his comment at a business conference in London, where he described Nigerian youths as lazy. The youths have taken to social media to react to the statement and Banky W also reacted. President Buhari was quoted to have said that the Nigerian youths “do nothing” and want everything for “free” in the oil-rich country. In his words; “A lot of them (Nigerian youths) haven’t been to school and they are claiming, you know, that Nigeria has been an oil-producing country therefore they should sit and do nothing and get housing, health care, education, free.” A lot of Nigerian youths have countered the statement made by the President, using #LazyNigerianYouths to talk about their respective jobs and how they are being resourceful. 2019: Buhari names Festus Keyamo campaign spokesperson

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a senior Nigerian lawyer as the head of communications and strategy for his 2019 re-election bid. The appointment of Festus Keyamo was conveyed via an April 16 letter signed by Rotimi Amaechi, the minister of transport and director-general of the Buhari Campaign Organisation. Mr Buhari announced last week Monday that he would seek reelection, shortly before departing for London. The news of the appointment comes a day after Mr Buhari told British Prime Minister Theresa May that he was more concerned about governance than the 2019 elections. A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, prominent for his rights activism, Mr Keyamo remains one of the most vocal voices backing the Buhari administration since 2015. He is expected to make a formal statement about his appointment soon.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday said his decision to seek re-election in 2019 was based on the clamour by Nigerians. According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President said this at a closed-door meeting of the National Executive Council of the ruling All Progressives Congress, held at the party’s headquarters in Abuja. The statement read, “President Muhammadu Monday in Abuja declared his intention to seek re-election in 2019. “President Buhari made the declaration at a closed-door meeting of the National Executive Council of the All Progressives Congress. “The President said he was responding to the clamour by Nigerians to re-contest in 2019, adding that he wanted to give NEC the honour of notifying them first. “Shortly before making the declaration, the President presented a speech on the report submitted by the APC National Executive Technical Committee.” According to the  News Agency of Nigeria , Buhari had earlier
