Guys See The Letter Boko Haram Dropped For Gombe People

According to this Twitter user, Boko Haram right now in Gombe are dropping letters warning people to stay away from the March 28 elections.Earlier on today, hundreds of Boko Haram Islamists invaded and attacked the restive northeast Nigerian city of Gombe, firing heavy guns. AFP reports that locals also confirmed to them that the insurgents threw leaflets at them that were asking them to boycott the forthcoming general elections.

Soldiers Regain Michika Town from Boko Haram

According to the statement of Pesident Goodluck Jonathan, Nigerian Military on Thursday liberated Michika town in Adamawa from the control of the Boko Haram insurgents. Jonathan made the announcement at the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign rally in Yola. The president also unfolded plans by the military to liberate Madagali town soon, adding that the area was the only remaining local government in Adamawa yet to be liberated from the insurgents.

One Million Boko Haram Victims to Get $1bn -Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday promised that the Federal Government would raise $1bn to support over one million Boko Haram victims. According to Vanguard, Jonathan said this while on a courtesy visit to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Shehu El-Kanemi in Maiduguri while in the Borno State capital in continuation of his presidential re-election rally.

Madonna has lent her social media klout to speak out againt the Boko Haram attacks in Baga, Bui and some other villages and towns in Northern Nigeria. From 2009 till date, over 10,000 people have reportedly died and several hundreds of thousands displaced from their homes. International celebrities including Boris Kodjoe, Angelina Jolie, Nicki Minaj, Solange Knowles, Meek Mill, and have begun to comment on the killings after the outpouring of international support to France after the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris. They and many more point out that the same sympathy and solidarity is not being shown for the Boko Haram killings in Nigeria. Boris Kodjoe was the first to call out this disparity on the day of the million-man march in Paris. President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan undertook a surprise visit to Maiduguri Thursday on the occasion of Nigeria’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day to meet with officers and men of the Armed Forces currently in the frontline of the war against terrorism and insurgency in the country. Accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, the National Security Adviser and the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency, President Jonathan visited officers and men of the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri to thank them for their patriotic and courageous service to the nation.
