Unknown Gunmen Attack Another Police Station in Imo, Kill 5 Officers, Free All Suspects Before Setting Building Ablaze. Channels Television is reporting that unknown gunmen have attacked another police station in Imo state. According to the report, the incident happened in Okigwe South local government area of the state. During the attack, five police officers were reportedly killed, while one has been declared missing. The assailants also burnt down the police building after the attack. A police officer who spoke to The Punch said that on arrival, the gunmen opened fire on the cops who challenged them. The invaders were said to have freed all the suspects in the cells and carted away arms. The source said that no fewer than five policemen were shot dead by the attackers as they torch the security facility. His words: “Our area command headquarters in Okigwe south is on fire. The effective date for implementation, the government said, is Monday, April 19, 2021. It however placed NIN registration as mandatory for registering new SIM cards. Gunmen Tactically Raid Police Station In Cross River State, Empty Armory Daily Trust is reporting that gunmen have attacked the Ekori police station in Yakurr local government area of Cross River state. Lorry Driver Who Caused Train Accident With 50 People Dead Says He’s Sorry As He Cools Of In Jail A construction site manager whose lorry slid on to a railway track and led to Taiwan’s worst train disaster in decades has expressed “deep regret”. Lee Yi-hsiang, 49, said he was “deeply remorseful” and wanted to give his “most sincere apologies”. His flatbed lorry was parked on an embankment but slipped down it, causing the train to derail on Friday near the city of Hualien. At least 50 people were killed and more than 200 injured in the crash. Mr Lee was part of a team who regularly inspected Taiwan’s mountainous eastern train line for landslides and other risks. He was also thought to be the flatbed’s operator.
