Unknown Gunmen Attack Another Police Station in Imo, Kill 5 Officers, Free All Suspects Before Setting Building Ablaze.
Channels Television is reporting that unknown gunmen have attacked another police station in Imo state.
According to the report, the incident happened in Okigwe South local government area of the state.
During the attack, five police officers were reportedly killed, while one has been declared missing.
The assailants also burnt down the police building after the attack.
A police officer who spoke to The Punch said that on arrival, the gunmen opened fire on the cops who challenged them.
The invaders were said to have freed all the suspects in the cells and carted away arms.
The source said that no fewer than five policemen were shot dead by the attackers as they torch the security facility.
His words: “Our area command headquarters in Okigwe south is on fire. Six policemen shot dead.
They also freed the suspects before igniting a fire on the facility.”
