Falz  recently released ‘ This Is Nigeria ‘ video and it has become a major talking point in the country; for good and for bad. The feedback on the video has caused Falz to make a timely reaction. The rapper sat with  Usifo Umozokpea  of  BBC Africa  to talk about the controversial video which scored millions of views within days of its release. He opened up to the interviewer, stating the reason he decided to make a cover of  Childish Gambino’ s critically acclaimed ‘ This is America.’  He also reacted to backlash that ensued the release of the video. Davido  is announcing International music festivals he would be performing at for the rest of the year and one of the exciting announcement is that the singer would be performing at Jay-Z’s ‘MADE IN AMERICA’ festival. The DMW singer is flooding his Instagram page with flyers of International music festivals that he would be part of in 2018. Falz has run into trouble with the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) because of the content of his ‘This is Nigeria’ video. The religious organization has asked the rapper to apologise and withdraw his video; or face legal action. Following the widely applauded initiative of US rapper, Childish Gambino, to capture the unfortunate happenings in the United States, in his ‘This Is America’ video; Falz made a cover version of the video that focuses on issues relating to the Nigerian society including the abduction of Chibok girls by Boko Haram terrorists and the incessant killings perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen. While the rapper has received plaudits for his uncommon initiative, some groups are unimpressed.
