UNILAG release cut-off marks for 2020/2021 admission The University of Lagos (UNILAG) which describes itself as the school of first choice and Nigeria’s pride on Tuesday, March 30, released its cut-off marks across faculties for all prospective students. A breakdown of the cut-off marks from UNILAG’s website revealed that History and Strategic Studies has the highest cut-off (66.575) mark as merit score in the Faculty of Arts. Next to it is the department of English Language which fixed its merit score at 65 followed by Chinese (64.85) and Creative Arts (64.175). The lowest on the list is Linguistics Igbo/Yoruba (49.1) in the Faculty. In the Faculty of Management Sciences, Accounting has the highest cut-off mark (69.825), behind it are Actuarial Science and Finance with 68.4 and 67.675 respectively. For the Faculty of Education, English tops the list with 67.025, while Electrical & Electronics Engineering has the highest in the Faculty of Engineering with 79.725. https://ww

At least 32 killed in Egypt train crash after sabotage At least 32 people have been killed and 165 injured in a train crash in central Egypt, officials say. Two carriages derailed and overturned when two passenger trains collided near the city of Tahta, Sohag province. According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the UTME would hold from Saturday, 5 to Saturday, 19 June 2021, The Nation reports. Premium Times added that registration for the examinations will start on Thursday, 8th April to Saturday, 15th May 2021. According to the board, there will be no extension of time for the sale of the UTME/DE application documents. 11 feared killed as soldiers battle gunmen in Abia state Eleven people have reportedly been shot dead in a gun duel between soldiers and gunmen in Abia state on Tuesday night, March 23. According to The Nation, the gun battle occurred at Ariaria junction on the Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway at about 8.30 pm. The publication reported that the soldiers acting on intelligence learnt that the gunmen numbering about 50 planned to attack them. The troops who laid in ambush were said to have opened fire immediately the attackers arrived on the scene.
