3 Policemen Shot To Death In Abia State Road Checkpoint As Guns Also Taken
Daily Trust is reporting that gunmen have attacked a police checkpoint in Agu Eze, Abiriba in Ohafia local government area of Abia state, killing three policemen.
According to the report, the dead officers were identified as Inspector Austin Ugwu, Inspector Longinus Ugochukwu, and PC Ama Ifeanyi.
The Nation reports that the policemen were ambushed and murdered while their rifles were carted away by the unknown gunmen.
The deputy governor of Abia state, Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu, who in the company of security agents, visited the community
He assured residents that the state government will deploy all necessary resources available to ensure their protection.
