A man was arrested on charges of murder after allegedly raping and killing his newborn daughter, police in California said,  World Wide Weird News  reports. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that they arrested 30-year-old Matthew Brendan Warner of Newhall, in connection with the sexual abuse and murder of his 19-day-old daughter.

According to the statement of Pesident Goodluck Jonathan, Nigerian Military on Thursday liberated Michika town in Adamawa from the control of the Boko Haram insurgents. Jonathan made the announcement at the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign rally in Yola. The president also unfolded plans by the military to liberate Madagali town soon, adding that the area was the only remaining local government in Adamawa yet to be liberated from the insurgents.

Corpses of two students of Ifeolu Secondary School, Osogbo, were yesterday found floating on River Osun by a woman who had gone to fetch water. The incident threw the people of Ijetu area of the town into confusion. Though what led to the death of the students could not be ascertained at press time, a resident of the area told Vanguard  the woman, on discovering the corpses, dropped her bucket and ran to the street, where she raised an alarm.

Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the President and founder of the Living Faith Church worldwide, also Known as Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, which has gone viral. Mawaza Police said that they arrested 48-year-old Evelyne Ndlovu, after using an ax to kill her husband, 56-year-old Rhodes Maphosa, because he refused to have sex with her,  Worldwide Weird News  reports According to the police investigation, Ndlovu began arguing with Maphosa in the afternoon when he refused her sexual advances. After several hours of arguing, Ndlovu went to sleep in the bedroom while Maphosa fell asleep on a couch in the kitchen. Around 2:00 a.m., Ndlovu woke up, took an ax and attacked her sleeping husband.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Wednesday accused the Vice-Chancellor, Lagos State University, Prof. John Obafunwa, of not possessing a PhD and holding two jobs.
