Pilot, co-pilot die in Nepal plane crash

Image
Two people died after a cargo plane crashed in Nepal during bad weather Wednesday, the latest aviation accident in the impoverished Himalayan nation. The Makalu Air flight lost contact moments after takeoff and crashed into a hillside not far from its destination in the remote northwestern district of Humla. The wreckage was found scattered across a mountain at an altitude of 3,900 metres (12,800 feet). “Bodies of both the pilot and co-pilot have been recovered from the crash site,” district chief Madhav Prasad Dhungana told AFP. “We believe it missed the route and crashed into a hillside, probably because of bad weather.” Nepal has a poor road network and many remote mountain communities rely on planes and helicopters to bring in basic goods. But the country has a dismal safety record, which is largely blamed on inadequate maintenance and poor management. Nepal-based airlines are banned from flying in European Union airspace because of safety concerns. In March, 51 people

White House ‘owner’ sues President Trump for $240,000 unpaid rent

Image
A man claiming to be the true owner of the White House has filed a complaint alleging that President Donald Trump owes him quite a bit in unpaid rent. William Feegba, who is representing himself, filed the landlord/tenant complaint in a Washington D.C. court on Tuesday, May 8th. In it, he claims that the monthly rent for the White House is $25,000.00 per month, and that Trump has failed to pay him from the time he took office in January 2017 until January 2018. In reality, a year of rent at $25,000 a month totals $300,000, but Feegba is only suing for $240,000. It should be noted that the same day he filed this complaint, he filed a similar one against President Barack Obama, claiming that the former president failed to pay rent from January 2010 until January 2018, even though Obama moved out in January 2017. He is seeking $2.4 million in that regard. According to celebrity gossip and entertainment news outlet, TMZ, Feegba has filed similar lawsuits against past presidents goi

He was sentenced to a staggering 13,275 years in jail – an amount of time longer than the entire Neolithic era. But in actuality, thanks to Thailand’s penal code that limits prison sentences,  Kittitradilok will only end up serving 20 years . Still, there’s something about the idea of a long prison term that gives the impression that justice is being served. And while Kittitradilok’s case was mostly optics, plenty of people around the world rea
