The APC team visited the Oba of Lagos today before heading to the stadium for the presidential rally. However, heavy rain started falling while at the king's palace, but that didn't deter them from moving on with necessary activities. More photos below..

Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the President and founder of the Living Faith Church worldwide, also Known as Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, which has gone viral. He was reported to have made the statement last Sunday when the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan came to worship at Faith Tabernacle, which is the headquarters of the ministry.

Did you know Goodluck Jonathan was nicknamed, ‘Aguduma,’ as primary school boy in Oguta, Imo State before the civil war? Yes, President Jonathan once lived in Oguta where he attended St. Paul’s Anglican Church Primary School. He was nicknamed ‘Aguduma” by his peers in primary school. Madam Emilia Ajie, from Ogbaru area of Anambra State, who happened to be his land lady at that time at the Kalabari Beach, in Oguta 11, has now revealed quite a lot about him to Sun Newspaper.

Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will not be featuring in the presidential debate organised by the Broadcast Organisation of Nigeria (BON),  The Cable  reports According Garba Shehu, directorate of media and publicity of the APC presidential campaign organisation, the boycott is due to the “unhidden bias and campaign of calumny by some key organisers of the programme, against the corporate political interest of the party (APC) and its candidates”.

Every space was taken at the PH stadium yesterday when President Jonathan, his wife Dame Patience Jonathan and campaign team landed Rivers State for their re-election rally. Football stars Joseph Yobo and Kanu Nwankwo were in attendance, and at the rally, VP Sambo was spotted dancing. "I'm a Port Harcourt boy oh''. lol. See all the pics after the cut.

Mawaza Police said that they arrested 48-year-old Evelyne Ndlovu, after using an ax to kill her husband, 56-year-old Rhodes Maphosa, because he refused to have sex with her,  Worldwide Weird News  reports According to the police investigation, Ndlovu began arguing with Maphosa in the afternoon when he refused her sexual advances. After several hours of arguing, Ndlovu went to sleep in the bedroom while Maphosa fell asleep on a couch in the kitchen. Around 2:00 a.m., Ndlovu woke up, took an ax and attacked her sleeping husband.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Wednesday accused the Vice-Chancellor, Lagos State University, Prof. John Obafunwa, of not possessing a PhD and holding two jobs. Adesola Nasir, ASUU’s Zonal Coordinator, Lagos Zone, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that apart from being LASU’s VC, Obafunwa was also the Chief Medical Examiner of Lagos State.

This Governor Ayo Fayose is so relentless...lol. Here's a press statement I just received. Read below... Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has pleaded with leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC, especially former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu to be human enough to allow the party’s presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) embark on his planned medical trip abroad. The governor said Buhari was being prevented from traveling abroad for medical treatment, despite his ill-health so as to avoid controversies.

Former Minister of Defence Gen T.Y Danjuma has called on Pres. Jonathan to order the immediate arrest of Asari Dokubo, Government Tompolo and other Niger Delta ex-militants who declared that they would destabilise the country if the president does not win next month's presidential election. Danjuma said this in an interview at the North West University, Kano shortly after commissioning the Kwankwasiyya City built by the Kano state government today January 28th. He said the militants must be punished for making such unguarded utterances which could throw the nation into chaos. "The statements were very reckless coming from irresponsible individuals and they should be condemned, in fact they should be arrested" he said. (Source - Daily Trust)

I was among those who were energized by reading Soludo's  article on the failing Nigerian economy, here . It may not have been 100% accurate, but it worked with facts and figures, mostly eschewed ad-hominems, and slammed both Buhari and GEJ for their faults in their ongoing campaigns to be president. As the incumbent, GEJ obviously had more of the blame, but that is only as it should be. He is the one with a lot to prove and lose at the same time. Unfortunately, his defenders have not towed the same line towed by Soludo but have mostly descended to name calling because of Soludo's previous political ambitions. Fami Kayode was the first to dash off a  meaningless response  that did worse damage on GEJ than Soludo's article.

A 61-year-old suspected gay, identified simply as Salisu, escaped death in Apapa area of Lagos State, when an angry mob descended on him. The man was said to have offered a 13-year-old boy N500 near Anjorin market about 6pm on Sunday. He allegedly started to rub the boy’s private part when two men caught him. It was alleged by eye witnesses that the gay was rubbing the boy’s private part beside Anjorin market when two men saw him and raised an alarm. Other men around joined and gave him the beating of his life. The man said it was the devil that pushed him into the act. He claimed that was the first time he would attempt such.

This baby is allegedly abandoned very close to the Mobil filling station at Abule Egba, Lagos this morning. A motel is close to where it was found and people are suspecting that it might have been dumped by one of the prostitutes plying their trades there. This is sheer wickedness and inhumanity.

I just received the update on this story, guys. This young girl pictured above was brutally beaten up by her madam in Ibadan. The incident had happened on the 25th of January, at Eleyele police barrack, Ibadan. The young girl's madam had allegedly beaten the girl so much on the fateful day, knocked off her tooth and nearly blinded her, before pouring hot water on the girl. Her cries attracted neighbours who saved her from the attack. The woman then allegedly told neighbours she beat the girl because she didn't clean the house. The girl was taken to a hospital and the woman detained

The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, UCLES, now Cambridge Assessment, has provided further details on the West African School Certificate, WASC, results presented by Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the All Progressives Candidate in the February 14 presidential election, Premium Times reports In a new post on its website, the university confirmed result grades for the examination in 1961 were issued in numbers, not letters, as suggested by critics of Mr. Buhari who have dismissed the results he presented as fabricated.
